Early Years

Early Years Music Workshops for Children aged 0-5 years

Why not celebrate the Summer with a fun and vibrant music workshop?

Soundcastle can transform your nursery or school into a magical playground bursting with imagination and music!

DSC_3018Perfect for Summer Festivals, Family Days or simply a chance to brighten up the classroom as the holidays draw near, our Early Years Music Workshops always get children and adults singing, dancing and smiling together. A Soundcastle workshop provides a rare opportunity for children to experience and interact with live instruments and most importantly, create their own music!

We offer workshops in three strands:

Discovery

Musical World: Learn songs and dances from all over the world together and build up the repertoire of your own school or nursery at the same time! This workshop takes us from Ghana to Jamaica and activities, which will explore the children’s responses to any topic in greater depth.

on to Brazil, India and many more exciting lands with a fun and interactive session of world music, selected especially for early years.

Musical Storytelling:  Using storytelling activities, our Soundcastle music facilitator will guide the children through exploring characters, landscapes, colour and senses. Using our combined imaginations, the group will collaborate to build brand new musical compositions inspired by their very own story!

Bespoke – Your School’s Theme: The Soundcastle team are all highly skilled, creative musicians who will happily devise a bespoke workshop(s) for you to tie in with your nursery or school’s curriculum. For example, if the children are learning about animals, nature, landscapes, countries, sports, etc. we can design music-making

We provide high qDSC_3182uality percussion instruments to enable the children to enjoy making sounds through tactile and physical musical exercises as well as using parachute games and colourful dance scarves to create different worlds and characters to inspire the group in their very own music-making!

We focus on celebrating bonds between adults and children through our musical activities and encourage any adults present to join in. All of our sessions are fully interactive and we encourage creative suggestions from the children, which can often shape the entire workshop. The music created becomes about them and they can experience real ownership over what they create.
